The Arizona Transit Association (AzTA) is Arizona’s only statewide organization dedicated to supporting public transportation systems throughout our state. Accordingly, AzTA encourages Pima County residents to vote YES on Question #1 – The Regional Transportation Plan (RTP).

AzTA is comprised of public and private members located throughout Arizona, and it recognizes and supports the tremendous opportunity that the 20-year Regional Transportation Plan provides the people of Pima County. AzTA supports this plan because it addresses cross-town mobility, reduces travel congestion, improves safety and security, and improves all modes of transportation.

The RTP includes nearly $534 million for public transit improvements, including a variety of new and expanded services and facilities:

  • Weekend Evening Bus Service Expansion
  • Weekend Bus Service Expansion
  • Bus Service Frequency and Service Area Expansion
  • New and Enhanced Express Bus Service
  • New Park-and-Ride Centers
  • Community Circulator Services
  • Special Needs Transit Service
  • High Capacity Modern Streetcar System

AzTA has continually recognized that public transportation is a critical component to maintaining a community’s livability, while simultaneously contributing to its economic vitality. Accordingly, AzTA strongly supports Question #1 – The Regional Transportation Plan.
