Arizona Transit Association (Q2)

The Arizona Transit Association (AzTA), Arizona’s only statewide organization dedicated to supporting public transportation systems throughout our state, encourages Pima County residents to vote YES on Question #2.
Voting “Yes” on Question #2 will have the effect of imposing a half-cent sales tax in Pima County for 20 years to provide funding the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), as previously outlined in Question #1.
This plan provides the people of Pima County real transportation and mobility options by addressing the following:
- Improves cross-town mobility
- Reduces travel congestion
- Improves safety and security
- New and improved public transit services
- Improved bicycle and pedestrian options
AzTA has continually recognized that public transportation is a critical component to maintaining a community’s livability, while simultaneously contributing to its economic vitality.
As the RTP is focused on directing resources to current and future public transportation needs for Pima County residents and visitors alike, AzTA strongly supports the passage of Question #2 without hesitation or reservation.
