The Green Valley Community Coordinating Council’s Board of Representatives urges residents to Vote Yes on Both Questions #1 and #2; the Regional Transportation Plan and the half-cent sales tax that will fund the Regional Plan.
We in Green Valley will benefit from the Regional Transportation Plan with: Improved Frontage Roads; an Expanded Transit System; Added Bike Routes; Sidewalks and easier access to Tucson.
Additionally, as you travel throughout Pima County, you will find many proposed street improvements which will assist travel on city streets, such as: bus pullout lanes and more turn lanes on surface streets; new bike lanes and paths, additional sidewalks and pedestrian crossings.
The Transportation Plan is truly regional and offers benefits to everyone who lives, works, and visits every section of our Community. It’s balanced – geographically, by type of transportation included and in the way it is funded. The tax to pay for the projects is also balanced and fair. There will be NO sales tax on groceries; NO sales tax on prescription drugs; NO sales tax on gasoline: NO tax on rent or mortgages.
The Green Valley Community Coordinating Council urges you to join us in voting YES twice – once on Question #1 to approve the Plan; and again on Question #2 to approve the tax to fund these much needed improvements.
We must pass both in order to improve our community. Let’s do it together.
