Never has there been a better time for you to get on board to invest in Pima County. Passing the sales tax will help us create a better transportation system that serves everyone and supports new jobs at a cost of only pennies a day to the average family.

Pima County continues to be one of the fastest-growing areas in our nation. Implementing the Plan and supporting the sales tax will help us fix current traffic congestion programs and support increased public transit and alternative transportation. By paying for this with a sales tax, you won’t have to pay it on groceries, medicine or gasoline. The average family in Pima County will see an increase of about $5 a month in their sales tax costs.

To ensure these funds are spent properly, a Citizens Oversight Committee will make the plan accountable to us. Neighborhoods and businesses will actively participate in the transportation planning for their areas to minimize construction disruptions.

Implementing the Plan would mean 10,000 new jobs in Pima County annually. Less than 25 percent of the jobs would be in the transportation construction industry.

This is a plan developed by people like you and me, people who care about their community and know what the priorities are. This is the first time that every jurisdiction in Pima County, including the Pascua Yaqui Tribe and Tohono O’odham Nation, voted unanimously to approve the same plan for the region.

The plan is balanced and fair. It means that traffic will move more effectively, so we’re not burning up gas, polluting the air and wasting our time. Let your vote show you care about Pima County. On behalf of LULAC and the NAACP, support your community and join with us. Vote for the Plan and for a 1/2-cent sales tax.
