As concerned citizens of the community, our Association supports this Plan that will take action to improve our transportation problems, and ultimately, our quality of life. Because we have fallen so far behind in improving our roads, public transit and other transportation projects, traffic congestion continues to get worse.
We are concerned about the many dangerous intersections in desperate need of safety improvements. We are concerned about the condition of our roads for getting our children safely to school. We are concerned the traffic delays caused by the lack of bus pullouts. We are concerned about the deteriorating condition of our sidewalks – and the lack of them altogether in some placed.
If you share these same concerns with us, our members urge you to vote “Yes” for Question 1 for the Regional Transportation Plan.
No matter where you live in Pima County, the Regional Transportation Plan will bring improvements directly to your area of the community. That’s because your neighbors, friends and peers sat down together to develop a plan that helps themselves and the entire region.
For over 25 years, people have been talking about the need for a comprehensive transportation plan. In 2006, we now have a regional Plan that is ready to go – one that will improve our roads, sidewalks, intersections, public transit, public safety, railroad crossings and more.
Now is the time to take action. Both Questions 1 and 2 must pass and your “Yes” vote on Question 1 is an important first step.
