One of us sells cars, and one of us prefers to take the bus. But we both support the Transportation Plan and encourage you to vote for it.
When people saw us sitting together at the Citizens Advisory Committee meetings, working to hammer out this plan together, some did a double take. “What’s the car guy doing talking to the transit guy?”
Sure, one of us started out caring more about roads to drive our cars on and the other one of us believed that public transportation was where it’s at, but we’ve come around to seeing things each other’s way. We need roads and buses. And this plan makes that happen.
We helped create this regional transportation plan together with other citizens who care about our community. This isn’t a traditional transportation plan. Folks who thought they disagreed sat together and with a lot of energy and a lot of hours created a transportation plan that works for everyone. This plan will improve our roads, make it easier to drive around town, and expand bus hours and routes.
One of us may never take the bus, and one of us may never drive down Tangerine Road. Still, we both support this plan. It is important for our community, not just our own self-interests. Because in a community, we need each other.
So no matter if you like to drive big, new cars or want to leave the driving to your bus driver, this transportation plan is made for you. We made sure of it.
Join us in voting yes on Questions 1 and 2 to pass the Transportation Plan. A yes vote is a vote for you and our community. That’s a deal you can’t beat.
