This is our opportunity to start turning around our transportation shortfalls – and put money back in our pockets. Everyone driving in our community loses $603 annually in wasted time and fuel – collectively that means a loss of $233 million and nearly 14 million hours in lost productivity.

The Regional Transportation Plan was developed by citizens – it is balanced to provide help for all aspects of our transportation needs across the entire county. Many projects were chosen in order to enhance already planned projects that local jurisdictions are doing with their available funds. The source to pay for the plan – a half cent increase in the sales tax – means that everyone – including visitors to our community – will help pay for the plan. It’s not just those that live here now – but everyone that uses our roads and transit now and in the future.

Part of the plan requires a Citizen’s Oversight Committee to make sure projects stay on track – holding government accountable. An annual report must be produced outlining funding and construction progress. Neighborhoods and businesses most impacted by construction will be asked to participate in the planning and there is a small business assistance provided in the plan as well.

Your Yes vote for regional transportation and the sales tax to fund it means we will all save at least $500 a year in time and fuel dollars. Vote YES for the Plan and YES for the funding.
